Great to be passing the former Bassenthwaite Lake Station by the A66 today and to see that the track has been laid in advance of the delivery of the full-size replica steam train.
The application – project managed and submitted by Addis Town Planning – includes the change of use of the former station to a cafe and the siting of the train.
The application was approved under delegated powers earlier this year.
Give it 12 months (ish) and it will be another fantastic tourist destination in the heart of the Lake District National Park.
